The Bucket Fountain: A 1970s Icon of Cuba Mall, Pōneke Celebrate the playful charm of Wellington’s vibrant Cuba Mall with this vintage print capturing the iconic Bucket Fountain in the 1970s. Designed by Graham Allardice of Burran and Keen, this beloved water feature is a symbol of Pōneke’s creative spirit and a cornerstone of Kiwiana culture. Set against the backdrop of the bustling Cuba Mall, this scene showcases kids splashing around the fountain, carefree shoppers, and the timeless charm of the nearby Masonic Hotel. Bunting and the distinctive pergola frame the lively atmosphere, while a Red Band beer sign nods to mid-century Kiwi life. This black-and-white historic print brings to life a slice of New Zealand’s cultural history, blending art, design, and the simple joys of community in one iconic space. Perfect for lovers of retro prints, mid-century aesthetics, and classic Kiwi moments, this piece is a tribute to Wellington’s unique personality. Add a touch of vintage Wellington to your collection and relive the magic of Cuba Street in its 1970s heyday.
